SPOTLIGHT: Flagpoles, Etc

Founded as R&R Flagpole Service in 1992 by Robert Ray in Southgate, Michigan, the company's journey began with Robert's passion for metalworking. Initially a metal welder and fabricator at his family-owned metal shop, Robert's pivotal moment came when he crafted a 120ft steel pole for the Cleveland Indians. This marked the beginning of his venture into building and climbing flagpoles nationwide.

With the addition of Robert's wife, Cheryl Ray, as the new CEO in 1998, R&R Flagpole Service expanded its horizons, delving into commercial contracting and flagpole manufacturing. The company flourished, growing the team to 8 employees, and achieving its first record year with over 300 poles sold.

Decades of dedication to product development and industry expertise culminated in the purchase of Flagpoles Etc in 2020, integrating commercial manufacturing, installation, and repair expertise into the residential market. Flagpoles Etc also offers expert design, hands-on manufacturing, integration, and installation of Colossal Steel Flagpoles with steel inventory on standby. Breaking the international barrier in 2023 with a 140’ steel flagpole manufactured, delivered, and installed in the Netherlands.

Today, as Flagpoles Etc., the company stands as a beacon of excellence in the flagpole industry, with a team of over 20 employees dedicated to delivering quality products and services to commercial and residential clients nationwide.
